The commitment to make maple syrup
is something that lies deep within a person. For
our family, that commitment has been strong through
five generations. Since the early 1900's, sap has
boiled every spring on our family farms in Almont,
Lapeer, Fowlerville, and Charlevoix, MI. Year after
year, grandparents, aunts and uncles, sons, daughters,
and cousins have gathered together to help with the
process. In 1973, production began on the Charlevoix
farm under the direction of Grandpa Robert Currey.
Around the same time, his son Art also started making
syrup in Fowlerville. Since 2006, all production
occurs in Charlevoix, under Art's direction, with
the support of his sons, Rob and Jon, his wife Jan,
and his mother Betty.
